below the surface of nonsense

Pikaboo by SugaRock99

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities. ~Theodore Geisel

FYIllo: Ukiyo-e History and Showcase

It’s been awhile, but there’s a new article up on Fuel Your Illustration by yours truly. This is probably one of my favorites simply because of the time I got to take to look through pretty pictures of Ukiyo-e, a traditional form of art in Japan. There’s a short, but good summary of what it’s all about, and a pretty fantastic showcase of prints from various artists. I really love Ukiyo-e and I wish I could fill my whole house up with different pictures. Check out the article here: Ukiyo-e: The Floating World. I’m thinking about making similar posts about other art forms – what would you like to see?

The Stories Are All One.

Old Man by PyroTechnician

“And in that line now was a whiskered old man, with a linen cap and a crooked nose, who waited… to share his part of the secret of heaven: That each affects the other and the other affects the next, and the world is full of stories, but the stories are all one.” – Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven
