My Debut at Fuel Your Illustration

Fuel Brand Network

So if you’ve been living under a pretty solid rock that past year or so, you might not have heard of the Fuel Brand Network. It was founded by Adelle Charles and Joshua Smibert, and together they have created a virtual treasure trove of amazing resource magazines online. The Fuel Brand Network is made of websites for bloggers, photographers, applications, branding, coding, user interface, production, writing, motionography, venture, and all creative minds. And, of course, there’s the popular Fuel Your Illustration, my personal favorite.

Fuel Your Illustration

A little while ago I sent in a request to do a guest piece for FYIllo and got to talking to the editor, Alex Eben Meyer. Well one thing led to another, and the next thing I know, I’m on the phone with Joshua Smibert himself about some of the ideas both he and I had for the website. So now, I am excited to announce that I am an official contributer/writer for Fuel Your Illustration (look, I’m even in the about section).

My debut article is currently up, entitled “For the Love of Calvin” – it’s a short description about my experiences with Calvin & Hobbes growing up, and the new and long-awaited documentary in the making called Dear Mr. Watterson. Check it out, let me know what you think, and look forward to more articles from me that may or may not include concept art from my favorite MMORPGs, interviews with art directors, webcomic techniques and process, and much more! And don’t forget to check out all the other sites in the ever-growing Fuel Brand Network.

It’s Webcomic Wednesday!

I love webcomics. I love them so much, I make them. I’ve been a fan and follower of several webcomics for the past 8 years, and I’ve been clipping comics out of newspapers even longer than that (pretty sure I still have quite a few clippings from when I was little girl). There’s just nothing quite so relaxing as sitting down in your favorite reading chair and spending hours going through the funnies. Nowadays, the Sunday comics are online, and they’re everyday. Here are a few of my favorites at the moment.

Roza
Roza: A Girl and her Curse, Kelly Hamilton

TJ and Amal

The Family Menagerie Update

The Family Menagerie Cat Comic

There’s a new comic up over at The Family Menagerie. TFM is updated every Monday (regardless of when it’s actually done, I might add), so be sure to check out all the crazy antics that two girls and twenty-two pets come up with. Good times for all.

And who doesn’t love puppies and kittens?

P.S. Don’t forget about the current Poster Giveaway!

Introducing The Family Menagerie!

My fine and fair Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been working endlessly (okay, not quite so endlessly since this week was mostly taken up with SLEEP and SICKNESS) to bring to the web a brand new web comic of unrivaled epic proportions. Day and night for the past months, this thing has been in my head. Ash and I have been working on it for well over year, and it is finally, FINALLY, up for the world to see.

I give you … *drumroll* …

The Family Menagerie

We have about 20-something comics already sketched out and ready to go, so it’s going to be updated every Monday from here on out. More pages/downloads/goodies will be added as we continue on this little adventure. Eventually the comic will expand to events in our lives not related to animals, but for now, that’s the focus. And trust me, that gives us enough content for life.

Check it out, give us a shout, and tell us what you think. And keep checking back for more comics and more updates. Welcome to The Family Menagerie!
