Muppets Do Queen: Bohemian Style

Because if you know me, you’ll know I love all things Jim Henson. And Queen. And that’s really all you need to know to continue with this post..

Have to finish up some comics. I’ll do that this week. Ash and I and the pups are driving to Tennessee tonight (and the better part of tomorrow I suspect). It’s a 16 hour straight shot, let’s see if we can do it. Have a great Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate it (and have a great weekend to everyone else).

5 Ways to Make a Happier Day

Beautiful LifeMondays are generally the most stressful day of the week (and Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and – well, weekdays can just be bad), and if you’re like me and tend to just drag at the beginning of the week, then you might find it useful to do a few things that make yourself feel good. And what better way to make yourself feel good but by making other people (or animals) feel good. So here’s a short list of some things you can do during your day to make the world a better place with just a few small well-placed happy gestures.

01. Smile.

Really. That’s it. Ever hear that smiling is contagious? It’s true. You smile at her, she smiles at him, he smiles at someone else, and it just keeps going. A smile is a good thing. Do it. It can brighten the darkest of days and the crankiest of souls.

10 Geeky Birthday Cakes!

Today is my birthday! So far I’ve spent it sleeping in, getting a breakfast of biscuits and bacon cooked for me, and lounging on the couch watching TV. For lunch, Ash bought me Chinese food and we might end the day with a night watching movies. A quiet, but wonderful birthday.

No cake though. I’ll get that next Monday when we celebrate with my family. I love cake and I think it’s one of the perfect ways to celebrate any occasion. In honor of my birthday, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite geeky birthday cakes online and felt I should share them with you. Of course, now all I want to eat is cake.

Alive with the Sound of Music.

While traversing the many intricate layers of the internet, I somehow stumbled upon this little video (I lie – a friend actually sent it to me via email, but it sounds more impressive if I “forget” to mention that part). Either way, this video rocks and very clearly shows exactly what people can do when the motivation strikes (and quite possibly a few catchy refrains of pop culture musicals are played over loud speakers).

You have to admit, that would be amazing to see. I’d be the one dancing offbeat, messing up the steps because I’d want to pretend I was in on it all along when really I was just a simple passer-by. My attempts at being cool and popular often fail, if you hadn’t guessed by now.

Enjoy the video.
