Ash and I have been super busy the last few weeks putting more and more content up over at I Love Rescue Animals, and the blog is becoming a virtual hothouse of information for any and all pet lovers. Our newest project: Pet Parent Files! This is the start of our video blogging journey – Ash has started creating videos (with me helping as the cameraman), giving tips from one pet parent to another. Whether it’s about giving panicure to dogs or feeding medication to rats, saving baby birds or talking about kittens, we are going to try and cover it all. Have a question? Please ask and we may do a video for you! Our menagerie currently consists of dogs, cats, ferrets, rats, a snake, a leopard gecko, and some fish (at the moment), so our experiences are varied and we may have an answer for you. She is now thirty years old, a published author, a celebrated environmental activist, and her words ring true to this very day. We still have a lot to learn.

Have to finish up some comics. I’ll do that this week. Ash and I and the pups are driving to Tennessee tonight (and the better part of tomorrow I suspect). It’s a 16 hour straight shot, let’s see if we can do it. Have a great Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate it (and have a great weekend to everyone else).

Because there’s always that slim chance that someone has not seen it, I thought I’d post it (again? I think? I’m pretty sure I already posted this when it first came out but I can’t find the original entry).

All of this is to say that there is a reason behind my lack of blog posts (though it is by no means an excuse since I was going to try and have some set up to post while I was gone but I simply ran out of time and, well, didn’t do it). Hopefully you can forgive me – I’ll try and make up for it in the coming weeks by posting at least once a day when I get home.

This post is so sad you don’t even get a picture. No time, no time. But to make up for it, have a really bizarre Jackie Chan commercial.

I’m still not quite sure what just happened, but Jackie Chan kicking butt on a Segway? There’s nothing else quite as cool.

You have to admit, that would be amazing to see. I’d be the one dancing offbeat, messing up the steps because I’d want to pretend I was in on it all along when really I was just a simple passer-by. My attempts at being cool and popular often fail, if you hadn’t guessed by now.

Watch. Share. Sign the pledge. It’s not too late to fight. Ash and I may not be married (yet), but that doesn’t mean this doesn’t have an impact on us. It physically hurts to know that there are still so many people out there who don’t see us as equals, who don’t see as human beings who deserve the right to be happy and to be ourselves. I cannot fathom it. I cannot understand how the dark ages are still oppressing us.

It’ll change. I know it will. We won’t give up.

On the same note, it’s Blog for Freedom to Marry Week. It’s sad that it’s come to this – where we have to actually spread the word about equal rights for marriage. Shouldn’t it be common knowledge? Shouldn’t it just be a given? Hasn’t it been said over and over again that we as human beings are all equal? So why is it then that we aren’t allowed the same rights? Even though this specific week is called Blog for Freedom to Marry Week, it doesn’t start or end with this week. We have to keep talking about it and sharing our stories and refusing to hide behind the ugly plaid lumberjack shirts in the closet (doesn’t every lesbian have one?). While I’m not married now, someday Ash and I will tie the knot and I hope by that time, we’re doing it legally and with our government’s blessing (honestly, when did it become the government’s decision?).

It’s a big thing, this whole marriage deal. Should it be? For the couple yes. But it shouldn’t be a big deal, at least in the negative sense, when two men or two women say their vows to each other and kiss as husbands and wives. It should be celebrated. It’s love.

Shouldn’t love always be celebrated?

That video is pretty grainy, but check out the one in the actual article: Alien-like Squid with “Elbows” Filmed at Drilling Site. It DOES look like an alien but it’s also really beautiful in a creepy, elegant sort of way (my descriptions rock). Can you believe these things really exist?

The world is such a strange place.

My favorite part is the guy in the background completely oblivious. Oh my god. Seriously funniest thing I have ever seen. Oh man. Can’t breathe.

Actually, just search Asian BSB on YouTube. Their videos are absolutely ridiculous and absolutely genius. I cannot stop laughing. Their facial expressions are just awesome.
