Political Traps and a bad Friday.

I was going to post a political post here, but I decided to refrain, and instead posted it over at BlogHer so more people would get a chance to read it (let’s face it, this place doesn’t get a lot of traffic – who honestly reads it?).

The article, “Cynthia McKinney: A Lesser-known Presidential Candidate,” can be found here. Go forth and prosper.

I woke up this morning with a massive head-ache and a gag reflex that just wouldn’t quit (tried to eat something and let me tell you, that was NOT a good idea). I’m running a 102.6 fever, it’s raining cats and dogs, and this is the day that my professor has decided would be the best day to go out and run a Search and Rescue scenerio. This means I get to go tromp around in the middle of nowhere on the side of a hill and pretend to find and then fix whoever is playing dead in the field. Okay, not dead, then there would be no reason for this, but you get my point.

The point? Today is going to suck. I wish Friday were over already. Come on weekend, I’m ready for you.

The Stupidity of Mankind…

…Often saves us from wasting time on catching the bad guys. They just put themselves in jail. Or they just put themselves in deeper water. Ah well, they deserve it.

In July, convicted sexual molester Donald Fox, 62, of Frederick, Md., became the most recent convict to challenge the unfairness of his sentence (40 years in prison) and then have the appeals court agree it was unfair, except because it was too short (he’s now serving 80 years).

Here’s a question for you. What’s your favorite thing to blog about?

Yum Food!

You know, I really should just find some sort of theme to blog about, but I’m way too EVERYWHERE for that. Maybe my psychiatrist is right. I do have A.D.D.

chow mein Anyway, I was meandering around the kitchen (and by meandering I mean spinning in a circle because that’s really all there’s room for in our tiny space) trying to find something to eat and I remember we had just bought cheap noodle bowls the other day. Now, by cheap, I don’t mean Ramen cheap, but it’s hella close. It’s still below a buck to get a full bowl, and I thought I’d share with you so you could try them out yourself.

They’re the Nissin Chow Mein bowls and there’s several to choose from. My favorites are Chinese Chicken Vegetable and the Thai Peanut. It takes six to seven minutes to make and really all you have to do is pour in water and stick it in the microwave. And it’s good! I was surprised by how good and filling they can be for such a cheap price.

There are a lot of mixed reviews about this stuff online, and I think it’s pretty much up to you whether you’ll like it or not. For me, it’s a great quick food and good!

Ooh, the microwave just dinged! Food time.

Merlin the Psycho Cat

I swear, our cat is a dog. Merlin, our 14 week old kitten, is a dog. Not only does he follow Spunky around EVERYWHERE and sleep with him (really, he sleeps curled up in his tail), but he runs to the door with him when someone comes in, he tries to eat the dog food with Spunky, he chases his tail in circles, he gives Spunky baths but terrorizes the other cats, and I swear I even heard him bark a couple of times.

We got him back in August and the only reason we brought him home was because Spunky wanted him. There were these girls with a basket with two kittens in it. They put the basket down, Spunky stuck his face in it, and Merlin instantly started throwing himself all over Spunky’s face. It was like we had to take him home because Spunky wanted him. We think that perhaps Merlin was taken from his mother too early and he’s imprinted himself onto Spunky, which is why he acts the way he does. He’s a neurotic little cat.

There was no point to this post really. I was just watching Merlin chasing his tail and it struck me that I never really mentioned his bizarre behavior here. So now you know.

Crazy cat.
