NewBird2 Release!

Okay, so it’s not completely done yet. I still have to fix up the horrible typography on my sidebar, my extras page isn’t up yet, and there are quite a few things in the coding that I need to fix up. But I’m sick of working on it and I won’t have time tomorrow for the most part, so I’m putting up my updated design now (called NewBird2).

Let me know what you think. Is it an improvement of the last design? Are the changes positive or negative? What do you wish I had done differently? And of course what do you like about it?

I’ll finish up the small, unfinished bits later. Right now, I’m exhausted and only have about four hours to sleep before I have to wake up in the morning and head over to the Wellness Clinic with Ash and the pups to get them updated on their shots.

There’s an ant crawling on my keyboard. I can’t get away from them.

Good night.!

And we’re back up, with tons of help from my previous host.  Thanks a bunch, Dan!

I’ll be making quite a few changes to reflect the new domain name.  For now, I’ll work with the old set up and the old title of Coyote Dreams until I get up the new theme that I’m working on.  The old site will continue to redirect to this page, but it’d be helpful if everyone updated their links.

I’ll blog for real when I get a chance to.  Right now, the house needs to be cleaned (after which the cats will once again knock everything down and undo any work I might actually accomplish).  Hey, at least it makes me feel better.  Even if it is just a half-hearted attempt.

How is it Monday already?

I got a twitter a long time ago, but I’ve only recently started abusing it to its full extent. I simply forgot it existed. Now, I don’t have that problem (I sound like a bad infomercial). I downloaded Twitterfox, a plug-in for Mozilla Firefox. It’s really cool, and makes it incredibly easy to update my twitter at any moment. Speaking of my twitter, it’s here.

But yeah. I’ve jumped on the Twitter bandwagon. I want to take it one more step. Does anyone know of a good wordpress plug-in that will show my tweets (that sounds dirty) on my sidebar? I found a couple, but I’d like to hear other opinions.

What do you think?

Edit: Okay, so I just used Twitter’s code instead of a plug-in. It works fabulous! Go me.

Website Rehaul!

I’ve been working on my website in chunks of time, and while it’s not completely done yet, it is up and viewable for your pleasure. Check it out! I’ve got icons, wallpapers, PS brushes, and some other goodies for my readers. Right now I’m working on putting up more in content in way of my art and my writings, so that’ll take even more time. But most of it’s up and running.

I had tons I wanted to blog about in the last couple of days, but I haven’t had a chance too. And now I can’t remember any of it. Man, I’m lame.

Firefox 3.0

Firefox 3 was released the other day and I finally just got around to downloading. As a first impression, I’m not sure I like it. The browser is suppose to be streamline in its design, but I actually find it cluttered without the definition of individual rows (the commands, the navigation bar, and the bookmarks toolbar are right on top of each other, no longer separated with an indented line as in the previous Firefox). It bothers me that they all look smooshed together. Maybe it’s the OCD in me, but I’d rather they didn’t touch (as opposed to the food on my plate that I mix together all the time).

One of the most annoying things I’ve found so far is typing in URL in the address bar (the new “Awesome Bar”). This brings up previously looked at sites, of course, but with Firefox 3, it also brings up information about the site, all crammed together – another cluttered mess. The idea of having information right there is in the right place, but the way Mozilla implemented it doesn’t work right and just makes it incredibly hard to read. I’m hoping that the bugs in this will get worked out, because finding previously looked at sites with just one word is, in theory, really cool. It just doesn’t look the best right now.

And though it’s really no fault to the new release, I’m also annoyed because many of my Add-ons are not compatible with the new version. I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll be updated soon with something that works.

This is, of course, just a first impression as I only downloaded it last night. Maybe it’ll grow on me and I’ll learn to love it as I find new gems in the browser (I have yet to find any). I don’t know, maybe I’m just adverse to change. I miss the old Firefox with it’s simplicity.

What do you think?

Wow, I Should Be Shot.

Sometimes my own stupidity shocks the hell out of me.

Who do you know who has the brains to actually delete their recycle bin? Yeah. I was trying to delete something off my desktop, my hand slipped and hit the tab key and before I processed it, I had hit delete (and then was a moron and didn’t read the prompt asking if I really did want to delete this item – instead I just hit yes). I realized that the folder I was trying to delete was still there, tried to drag it to the trash, and discovered, with much surprise, that it was gone.

I’m an idiot.

I could not for the life of me figure out how to get it back and where the hell that thing was located on my actual computer. So I had to google it and found this really amusing and sarcastic site about Why People Delete Their Recycle Bins. Yeah, way to make me feel even more incompetent. It is pretty funny though.

And that, my friends, is my stupid moment for the week, day, hour.

(Oh, by the way, I figured out the flickr thing and customized my journal. Woot!)
